Waters Center of Innovation Laboratory

Our mission is to bring state-of-the-art mass spectrometry expertise, methodology, and instrumentation to the University's research and clinical infrastructure.

  • It occupies about 2,000 square feet of space on the first floor of Kolthoff Hall as part of the LeClaire-Dow Instrumentation Facility, 193 Kolthoff Hall. The laboratory is located in 191 Kolthoff Hall.
  • Support comes from service fees charged to investigators and direct institutional support from the University of Minnesota.
  • It has established close research collaborations with a number of departments, including Chemistry, Biological Sciences, and Medicine.

Instruments include:

  • Agilent 7200 GC/QTOF-MS
  • Bruker BioTOF II ESI/TOF-MS
  • Waters TQD UPLC/Triple Quadrupole-MS
  • Waters Synapt G2 UPLC/QTOF-MS
  • AB-Sciex 4800 MALDI/TOF-MS
  • AB-Sciex 5800 MALDI/TOF-MS
  • Fluidigm CyTOF2 Mass Cytometer
