Department Seminar: Professor Carlos Baez
Professor Baez' research group investigates the structure, dynamics, and self-organization of proteins and lipids in biological membranes. Their work lies at the interface between physical chemistry and molecular biophysics. They develop and use a combination of tools based on infrared spectroscopy, spectroscopic models, and structure-based computer simulations.
Professor Baez earned his bachelor's degree from the Michigan Technological University, and his doctorate from the University of Michigan. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago. He joined the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin in 2015.
