"New reagents for mass cytometry: low molecular weight probes to open new dimensions"

Professor Mark Nitz' research is focused on using organic synthesis and enzymes coupled to state-of-the-art biophysical techniques such as fluorescence, NMR, mass spectrometry, and microcalorimetry to creatively assemble new tools for studying biology, including biofilm formation and modulation, development of probes for mass cytometry, protecting group-free carbohydrate synthesis, cyclodextrin functionalization and supramolecular sensor design, and development of peptide substrates for C. difficile Toxin B.
