Departmental Seminar: Professor Daniel Harki
"Chemical Modulation of Transcription Factor Signaling"
Research in Daniel Harki's laboratory focuses on the design, synthesis and biophysical characterization of small molecules that influence cellular function. Applications for these molecules range from anticancer drug discovery to new tools for modern biotechnology research. The core science is organic chemistry; however, researchers use techniques of modern molecular biology, genetics, and genomics to probe the biological activities of the compounds synthesized.
Research projects in the laboratory are:
- chemical probes of transcription factors and transcription factor signaling networks; and
- discovery and development of APOBEC3 chemical probes.
