Professor Haynes named to The Analytical Scientist Power List
Professor Christy Haynes has been named to The Analytical Scientist Power List 2019—a list of the top analytical researchers across the globe.
In her profile for the Power List said that an exciting recent advance is her group’s first nanomaterial design project for agricultural applications is coming to fruition. They have been designing nanoparticles to controllably transform and release nutrients that promote healthy crop growth following uptake by a plant.
Haynes also commented on the best part of the job. "You’re only limited by how widely you read and your imagination. Analytical chemists can impact a wide range of fields, because being able to measure something means that you can make progress towards understanding it."
Haynes is associate head of the Department of Chemistry, a Distinguished McKnight University Professor, and associate director the of Center for Sustainable Nanoparticles. The full Power List 2019 can be found online at https://theanalyticalscientist.com/powerlist/2019.
