No-cost tax preparation

The Volunteer Tax Assistance Program, a student-run service organization, prepares tax returns at no cost for University of Minnesota faculty, staff, and students who have unadjusted gross income of less than $54,000. The program is fast, safe, and IRS certified. Learn more and schedule an appointment.

CBITG Student Talks

Two of graduate students, Amani Lee and Stephanie Mitchell, will be giving Chemical Biology Initiative Training Grant student talks at 12:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, Room 105 717 Delaware St. Amani's talk is, “The Development of Multimodal & Multifunctional Nanosensors for 19F-MRI.” Stephanie's talk is, “Chronic Exposure to Complex Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Elicits Rapid Resistance in Shewanella oneidensis MR-1.”

Safety Note: static electricity

Beware the destructive power of winter season static electricity! Discharge built-up static by touching other metal surfaces before using electronic devices or other instruments. E-Shop staff in 136 Smith have seen two laptops and a printer damaged by static electricity in the last two months. Replacement keyboards and USB ports were needed.
