Ordering Protocols during COVID-19
The Chemistry Research Stockroom resumes operations, Monday, May 18, 2020. However, it will only be open for pre-order requests sent by email to email@example.com and in-person pick-up when those orders have been filled. Entry into the stockroom for browsing will not be permitted. Customers must bring their own pens for writing and their own carts to transport items.
For all orders, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. There are no exceptions: no in-person or phone orders.
Orders should be placed between 7:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to be filled the same day. Orders will hopefully be filled within an hour and picked up the same day they are placed.
Include a list of items and following details:
- your name
- principal investigator or faculty adviser name
- your CHEM stockroom card account number (1 to 5 digits, on your stockroom card)
- stockroom catalog number and description of each item you are ordering
- quantity or size of each item
You can use this ordering example form to help place your order. You can get a complete description of the item being ordered by copying and pasting from the chemical, lab supplies, office supplies spreadsheets.
An email will be sent to the purchaser when items are ready for pickup. Orders will hopefully be filled within 1 hour. All orders should be picked up the same day placed. Any large orders that take time to fill and placed after 3:30 p.m. can be picked up the following morning.
Please come down within one (1) hour of order pickup confirmation and announce your arrival at the door. The Stockroom is closed from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for lunch, so please remember that it might take an additional hour at this time for processing.
Please try to place larger orders less frequently instead of many small orders on demand. Research groups should try to have one person doing their orders to help limit the number of people coming to the stockroom to pick up orders. Stockroom personnel will bring your order into the hall. Please keep your distance. When stockroom personnel vacate the hall then you can pick up your order.
Important: All standard safety protocols remain in place for secondary containment or use of approved carts to transport your chemicals. The Stockroom will not lend carts to transport orders.
